Summer Fun for reFRESH 51

It's celebrating summer all the way with Issue 51 of reFRESH Magazine. The new issue hits the newsstands in the UK this week and is packed full of our usual mix of arts & culture, fashion & style and homes & interiors, providing a beautiful blue glossy for your coffee table!

So aside from the deliciously gorgeous Levi, who graces our cover (shot by photographer, Hector Rodriguez) there's plenty to keep you busy. Arthur Wooten continues his hilarious 'Dear Henry' letters and there's Part three of Steven Gdula's serialisation on The Fashionable & Secret History of Gay Men's Clothes.

We also meet Bishop Gene Robinson on his recent visit to the UK; play some chukkas with the Los Angeles Gay Polo League and talk fashion with upcoming tailor, Nico-D. We also catch five with male supermodel, Marcus Schenkenberg, the new face of German jewellery company, Code-Royal.

Fashion wise the talented boys from Glasstik shot our main fashion editorial in a garage and we showcase the work of US photographer, Adam Bouska.

50 and feeling...FRESH

Well we never knew that hitting fifty was so reFRESHing! Our 50th issue is on sale now with four collectable covers to mark the occasion.

The covers have been shot by leading fashion photographers Gavin Harrison, Robert Mendolia, Gregory Vaughan and Wander Aguiar and feature some of the hottest male model talent from both sides of the Atlantic.

The photographic collaborations continue inside the magazine - LA-based Ben Marshall shoots Dantes Cove star Jon Fleming; Troy Phillips trains his lens on All My Children star (and former reFRESH cover guy) Aiden Turner and our very own Cate Hayter presents a black and white study of another former reFRESH cover guy Alex Beer. Alex also graces one of our four covers (bottom left on the image). Our main fashion editorials have been shot by French photographer Eric Sposito and model-turned photographer, Wander Aguiar.

Editorial highlights include: a special focus on dance with interviews with aerialist Ari Levanael and French dance and acrobatic troupe, Les Farfadais. Steven Gdula's series on the fashionable and secret history of gay men’s clothes explores the war years and another new regular J.C.Parrish starts his series on Hollywood Greats with a look at Lana Turner. Regular columnist Arthur Wooten entertains with his Dear Henry letter and we enter the world of Divas (of the 18th century variety) with a look ahead to the new exhibition 'Handel & the Divas' at the Handel House Museum in London.

Editor-in-Chief David Tickner, who launched and has helmed the magazine since the first issue, is pleased to celebrate this milestone for the magazine,  “To retain an unbroken presence on the newsstand for the last six years is a testimony to the dedication and hard work of all the people who work and support the magazine. It seemed entirely fitting that we should therefore do something special to celebrate our 50th edition and since we have always had a top quality photography in the magazine since Issue 1, producing four covers for our readers seemed particularly appropriate.”

Jan/Feb 2008 Issue out now

  The latest issue of reFRESH Magazine is out now.

We have interviews with Leon Lopez (sexy star of stage musical, Rent), hot pop duo Switch 22, musicians Derek Jameson and Steve Read and the new artistic director of the ENO, Ed Gardner. We also chat to upcoming musical talent from all over the world - Markus Riva (Latvia), Zwerg (Canada), Christophe Paris and Benjamin Dejoue (France), Inner Smile (Israel), Matthew Duffy (USA) and Daniel Boland (Spain). 

Top fashion photographer Nigel Barker has shot an exclusive editorial for this edition on the theme of the rockstar and Fabrice Lachant shot our smouldering cover shot with the help of top male model, Alex Beer, who is with Zone Models. Alex looks the part in his kilt, kindly provided by designer kilt company, Guilty Kilts.

Elsewhere inside we have culture focuses on The Dulwich Picture Gallery in London, the work of photographer Crawford Barton and the contemporary arts gallery in Paris, Jeu de Paume.

New Issue Out Now

The fully festive Nov/Dec edition of reFRESH Magazine is out now.

This issue has a whole host of new writers and photographers participating. Eli MacIntyre, from Hawaii, has penned a 4 page resident's guide to Hawaii, complete with some sexy and fun photography. A great incentive to visit Hawaii and see the real islands.

Greg Alexander, Ethan James, Pantelis, Herve and Glasstik are just a few of the photographers who participated in the 12 Day Project. A photographic interpretation of the famous christmas carol. It was a challenging project, but one which ended up looking fantastic, as you'll see in the magazine. So a big thank you to everybody who participated.

Elsewhere in the magazine we have interviews with US actors, Cheyenne Jackson (currently in Xanadu on Broadway) and Dave Moretti (from HereTV's The Lair), comic artist Tom Bouden and photographer Allan Warren.

Our cover image is from a new book just released by Jonathan Cape, Men for Men. The picture was taken by top photographer Joe Oppedisano.  Another one of our new writers, Mathieu Laffite, interviewed the author of the book, Pierre Borhan.

Also included are 101 Gift ideas for Christmas, a special section dedicated to France, food & drink, interior design, property and motoring.
